I’m Desiree.
I have dedicated my career and life to providing social justice and health equity to those in my community and beyond. My dad served in the military but we still grew up struggling. My dad did his best to provide for the five of us but often needed assistance. I worked as a certified nursing assistant, medication aide, behavioral health specialist, substitute teacher, owned my food truck, and now I run an Outreach Ministry in Texas. Each of these professions has allowed me to retain great knowledge and understanding of community and social issues. Trust, respect, and dignity are what I give to each neighbor I encounter. I am passionate and take pride in being a reliable liaison between health, social services, and the community while providing assistance, information, and resources in building individual and community betterment.

He dedicado mi carrera y mi vida a brindar justicia social y equidad en salud a quienes están en mi comunidad y más allá. Mi papá sirvió en el ejército pero aun así crecimos luchando. Mi papá hizo todo lo posible para mantenernos a los cinco, pero a menudo necesitaba ayuda. Trabajé como asistente de enfermería certificada, asistente de medicación y maestra sustituta, dirigía y era dueña de mi camión de comida y especialista en salud conductual, y ahora dirijo un ministerio de extensión en Texas. Cada una de estas profesiones me ha permitido conservar un gran conocimiento y comprensión de los problemas sociales y comunitarios. Confianza, respeto y dignidad es lo que le doy a cada vecino que encuentro. Me apasiona y me enorgullezco de ser un enlace confiable entre la salud, los servicios sociales y la comunidad, al mismo tiempo que proporcionó asistencia, información y recursos para lograr el mejoramiento individual y comunitario.
